Who’s who

by Michele

Well, I emailed the people who sent us the pictures and asked who was who.  Good thing…I got another picture.  Bad thing…I didn’t have the girls ID’d the right way.  So here it is…..

Our new picture…this one is Quinn Shengchun (Jenna Shengjie is in the same outfit at the bottom of the last post.)

As for the other pictures in the last post, the first picture is Jenna Shengjie, second is Quinn Shengchun, third is with both, fourth (as stated earlier) is Jenna Shengjie.

On a side note we hired someone to tell us what their names mean.  We used Adele from blessedkids.com.  She was very easy to work with (allowed us to negotiate a  price we were comfortable with) and helped us clear up some questions about our girls’ Chinese names.  Their full names are Xia Sheng Chun and Xia Sheng Jie (Chinese put their last name first and their first name last).  We were going to use just one of their first names, Chun and Jie as their American middle names; however, Adele told us that when you use both first names together, it changes the meanings of the name.  So now we are going to use their full Chinese first name as their middle names (does that make sense?).  Apparently you can write them as one word or two, it doesn’t matter; however, we have decided to combine them into one word.  She also said that Chun and Jie are used as part of the first names for a lot of girl twins.  Anyway, Shengchun means sacred and pure.  Shengjie means sacred and clean.  The other cool thing is she sent us a voice file of her pronouncing our girls’ names.  They are not as hard or as bad as they look.  Well, I think those are all of our updates so for those of you counting, we are 1 1/2 weeks into a 2-10 week wait for our I-800 paperwork.  Pray it goes fast.

About tochinaandbackagain

I am a stay at home mom to two very active boys and soon we will bring home two Chinese twin girls with cleft lip and palate issues. I spend my day trying to be the best parent and wife I can be with God leading the way.
