Guess who spent the weekend.

by Michele

Yes, the dog that peed on me two weeks ago was here for the weekend.  The family who now owns Hunter was away on a marriage retreat for the weekend and we were happy to help them out.  I was amazed at how different Hunter was.  He is a smart dog and learns quickly.  The new family says that they are training Hunter not to go on couches and other furniture but apparently Hunter thought his new rules don’t apply to his temporary housing because when we went upstairs to bed, Hunter hopped right into bed where he used to sleep.  Sorry Jessica.Got to get all comfy…..

Good night Hunter.

Haha! A pillow? LOL, no wonder he liked visiting you last weekend! ;p It’s ok, he ran right to his doggy bed on the floor as soon as he got home. 🙂 I was so worried the poor guy would think he was moving homes again! Seth told me how excited he was to see you guys when he dropped Hunter off, and I was sure he would be ok for the weekend. 🙂 Thank You!!!
I find myself reminding Hunter at least once a day, “You are a dog, you do not get (insert human food or comfort here)”. I say it also to remind myself that he is a dog; he’s so sweet and affectionate so why shouldn’t he get some ice cream too? ;P
He has already helped our family heal from the loss of our black lab last summer. We are so in love with him. ❤ I am amazed at how smart he is and how eager he is to please. You would think that a dog who was pampered for his whole life would take alot of training not to beg for human food or sleep in human beds. 🙂 It was his way of life for so long to be inside constantly and share icecream cones with his old owner (ick!), you would think he would feel entitled to special treatment, but It only took a few reminders and he complied.
We love taking him for walks/runs every day, and now that Seth is finished with finals we will start making progress on our privacy fence! We are excited for him to not be chained and be able to run free in the yard. 🙂
