We are on our way

by Ted

The morning started early for Michele – at 6:00AM.  Not necessarily because it needed to, but because she couldn’t sleep anymore.  It was probably for the best.  With all the last minute packing and double checking everything we pulled out of our drive on time.

We met with Grandpa Roger and Vikki in Lakeville for lunch and said goodbye to our boys as they headed off with Grandpa and Grandma Yoder for their two-week vacation.

I spent most of the first leg of our trip finishing up work that I didn’t get done earlier.

We arrived in Seattle on time and during our layover we hung out with Michele’s brother and his family,  Josh, Elizabeth and Connor.

Connor borrowed Michele’s ticket later at the airport, but security wouldn’t let him through.  He was bummed.

Our plane to Beijing is now boarding, so Michele and I are off to China.  We land near midnight – Beijing time.  I think that translates to  about 10:00AM central time.

Great news!!  Michele and I have seats together and are even in the front of the plane in some of the premium seats – Economy Comfort.

About tochinaandbackagain

I am a stay at home mom to two very active boys and soon we will bring home two Chinese twin girls with cleft lip and palate issues. I spend my day trying to be the best parent and wife I can be with God leading the way.

  7. The secret to getting comfort seats?

Well, first you book your ticket late, so there are no available seats left to assign. Next, you fret about whether you and your hubby we get to actually sit together on the plane because you don’t have assigned seats yet. After that you ask everyone you know to pray for you that you will actually get to sit together. Finally, God answers your prayer and you get assigned seats at the gate that are the only ones left – economy comfort.

Luckily, we still got seats. The plane was overbooked and at least two people didn’t get to go on the plane who had tickets and were at the gate!!
