Ni Hao Beijing

by Ted

Michele and I arrived at our hotel in Beijing without any problems.  The flight was long, but went well for an 11 hour flight.  Michele’s stomach has been a little quesy.  She isn’t necessarily sick, just uncomfortable.

The airport has both English and Chinese on all the signs and even most of the street signs have English on them.  We cruised through customs and our bags were one of the first ones to come down the baggage claim ramp.  So it was really easy getting through the airport. I have never gotten out of an airport that fast with checked baggage – even in the US when we don’t go through customs.  We were out of the airport and driving to our hotel by the time our plane was supposed to have landed.

It is midnight here…dark and apparently a thunderstorm just rolled through. So we didn’t see much, other than a bunch of skyscrapers as our driver drove us to our hotel.

Overall, the trip started very well and we are doing good.

(Please feel free to leave comments throughout our trip.)
