On Wednesday, Marissa came to visit us before she leaves for college. Over the past few years, she has become more than just a youth group member, she is a very close family friend. My kids love her (it could be because she takes them to the water park and buys them ice cream). She spent the evening hanging out with our kids just playing and talking. Right before the kids went to bed, we tried to take some pictures of everyone together.
We tried to get Jenna and Quinn to smile and this is what happened.
Jenna didn’t smile but everyone else had fun. Anyways, after we took pictures we sent the boys off with Marissa to put to bed and I took the girls. When I finished, I went to check on the boys and they were both in tears. Marissa was leaving them never to be seen again. It took Ted and I about 20 mins. to calm them back down so that they could sleep. Ryan was very concerned that if Marissa leaves them, then maybe mommy and daddy would leave them. He wanted me or Marissa to spend the night with him. Eventually, they fell asleep for the night and we got to watch a movie with Marissa.
The next day, Luke decided that they were going to go get Marissa. He got everyone on the airplane, got out the map and decided that they were on their way to get Marissa. Apparently he thinks you need an airplane to get to the cities. He said he didn’t know how to get to the cities so his partner in crime came to help him out.
I am not sure how good a 2 year old is in helping with directions but they soon figured out their route and off they went to get Marissa. I know Marissa has not left for college yet (she leaves tomorrow) but these boys definitely miss her already.
