Little climbers

by Michele

Our little Jenna has always been a climber.  It has made us think twice about what is safe and what is really out of reach.  She likes to use little knobs to climb cabinetry to get to places that would normally be out of reach.  She is very good at going up, still needs a bit of work coming down.IMG_7561 (640x427)

However, our boys decided to teach Jenna a new trick with her good climbing skills.

So that she can do this when ever she wants.

Which gave Ted an idea…..  We had plenty of free time in our house during Christmas because we did not want to go anywhere to spread our lice so it seemed to be the perfect time to build.  Using whatever scrap lumber we had laying around, Ted and Luke started nailing boards to the wall to form this…

Our very own climbing wall.  When they fall, it’s not a big deal because they just fall on to our spare bed.  The kids have had a blast.  It has survived the Yoder family Christmas last weekend with all of the cousins.  It has even survived our youth group testing it out.  Luke and Ryan are pretty proud of their climbing wall and love to show it off.  I think Ted did a really good job of building it, making it safe and even making it look decent on the wall.  I don’t know if the people who buy our house will appreciate all of the holes in the wall but it works for us right now and that is what counts.
