Well I had a few photos that I was going to blog about; however, our cable broke earlier this week and Ted has not had time to sit down and see how to fix it yet. So I have been waiting for him to have time to fix the problem but as most of you know me, I am not the most patient person so here is a post filled with random little updates with no pictures.
1. Since our girls now have lips, I decided to give them sippy cups that were not drilled out. I figured they are able to suck now so why not see if they can use a no spill sippy cup. This would make traveling with drinks for the girls a lot less messy. So how did they do? It took Quinn a minute to figure out how to get her hot chocolate out of the cup but she figured it out and went to town. She was very happy with her drink. Jenna on the other hand took a bit longer to figure it out. She kept on putting the cup to her mouth, tipping it upside down and waiting for it to flow into her mouth. This way would work if the cup was drilled out like all of their other sippy cups. It was a little funny because Jenna kept on putting the cup to her mouth, taking it away, looking at her sister who was really enjoying her warm drink, putting her cup to her mouth, looking at her cup, looking at her sister, putting her cup to her mouth, well you get the picture. After about 10 minutes, she finally figured it out and then she got a huge smile on her face too. By the time Jenna figured it out, Quinn was almost done with her drink but for a few minutes both girls were drinking from their sippy cups and it was loud. It kind of sounded like a small herd of cattle drinking from a tank. I don’t think they were quite sucking correctly because it sounded like a lot of air getting sucked up. It also was not the most efficiently since Luke and Ryan had finished their hot chocolate way before the girls did. But considering it was their first time having to suck, I think it was a success. Now if only I could get them to drink out of a straw.
2. Sickness has finally entered our house for the winter. It is not as bad as everyone around us has had but we really have not been any where for 2 weeks. It started with Ryan, followed by me and now Luke. It must be a very mild cold because all we have is a low grade fever, ~100-101 F, for a few days. Luke is actually going on day 6 of a fever. We don’t really have an appetite (which makes cooking for everyone else very difficult) and we have been extremely tired (although not tired enough to sleep, just tired enough to want to sit on the couch all day and do nothing). Hopefully we will all get better soon. I feel a little bad because we have had beautiful snow outside all week but just have not had the energy to go play in it. And it is suppose to rain tomorrow so all of our beautiful snow is going to get wrecked. Bummer.
