This past week has been very busy. Busy in a good way. Since T-ball, Luke and Ryan have taken more of an interest in sports. So I came up with the idea of boys day out (Ryan is only 3 so I didn’t want him out too late) by having them go to a Twins game during the day. Ted took the day off from work last Thursday and with the boys in tow, went to the Twins game. They picked Grandpa up on the way to the game. It was Ted and my boys first time to the new Twins stadium.
Luke spend most of the time asking questions about how the game actually works. Ryan watched for a little while but then needed to get out and do some people watching and exploring. He ended up finding a lot of fun food to eat. They had a blast.
On Saturday, we had some friends randomly call us up to go for a bike ride. We are always up for a bike ride.
All of the adults ended up walking. We put the real little ones in strollers or push trikes. It was nice because we were able to talk about a lot of different things.
Starting this past Sunday night for 4 nights, we have had VBS (vacation Bible school) at our church. Ted and I have been very busy planning and organizing everything. I was a bit nervous and had a few nervous nights thinking that I was forgetting about something but it went off without a hitch. It had a wild west theme complete with a puppet show. The puppet show was what worried me the most because there were water gun fights and water bombs going off but I thought it would be better then watching a DVD that came with the teaching material.
I was really happy with how everything turned out. Luke even said his favorite part was the puppet show so we must have done something right. The girls were too young yet to attend but since we go to a smaller church and we were in charge, we let the girls attend but Ted or I was with them the whole time. Well, to be honest, maybe we weren’t with them the whole time but I had extra youth group members assigned to them so they were with the girls the whole time.
They really did enjoy it. Here they were waiting for their story time to start. We rapped up VBS on Wednesday night because we were busy with the youth group on Thursday. Ted and I had to go to Valleyfair as chaperons. For those of you who are not from MN, Valleyfair is like a theme park think Six-flags not Disney land. We didn’t have too many youth group kids go so we decided to bring along Luke and Ryan. It was their first time to the park. And wow did they have fun. There were tons of kid rides for them and we ended up staying there way too late. I think we left around 9 at night. Luke and Ryan fell asleep in the car home so it wasn’t all bad. So that was our past week. Busy, busy, busy….
