Happy Birthday Jenna and Quinn!

The girls turned 3 this week!  And of course the first one to wish them a Happy Birthday and give them a present was also one of the first to welcome them home.

Bella came over right after school to give the girls their birthday present.  I am guessing it was killing Bella to wait that long but she finally got to dress our little girls up in the clothes she bought.

IMG_4989Since then we have gone on walks in their new sweatshirts and yes, Jenna really does seem to glow in the dark.  They are very proud of their new sweatshirts.  Whenever we say anything about them, they point and say, “Bella a me, Bella a me.”  Yes Bella gave it to you.  They also got a few cards on their Birthday.

They don’t understand what money is yet but Luke was very busy telling them how to spend their money.  Ryan on the other hand did not like the fact he didn’t have anything to open so he spent a good amount of time on the couch.  Oh well.

Our new tradition of the Birthday person picking out their supper didn’t quite work with the girls since they don’t really talk much yet.  I tried to come up with a menu that I thought they would like.  It consisted of meatball sandwiches, peas, and cookies.  They loved it.  They even asked for seconds.  They will be having their birthday cake on Sunday so I got by pretty easy with watermelon cookies.

I don’t know how much they understand yet about Birthdays and growing older but I think they get more then I think because Ted would ask them who was three, Jenna would answer and point to herself.

So here is to one more year being in our family.  In this last year the girls have gone through 2 oral surgeries each, 1 set of ear tubes for Quinn and 2 for Jenna, they each grew 4 inches, they have both started talking (Jenna more then Quinn) but still they are both talking.   The girls have come such a long way in the past year.  We are so proud of them and are so happy that we have them in our family.  Happy birthday!!
