Luke had a homework assignment last September for Science. He had to use something that we thought was garbage and find a new use for it. We searched and searched on the internet for a project that would be easy enough for a non-crafty family and have all the things laying around the house.
We finally settled on one. The problem was we didn’t have the star ingredient, empty 2 litter bottles of pop. The problem was solved with grandma going to the landfill and finding 2 for us. Using some leftover car spray paint, Luke set to work coloring the bottles. They were a little streaky but for his first time spray painting, not too bad. Then with some cardboard we had in the recyclable bin, a few old play necklaces and some used tissue paper we made a jet pack. For the past 6 months they have gotten a lot of use out of it so I would say it was a pretty good re-purposed project.
